I am Hamida Khatri, a PMP® (Project Management Professional) certified Gender-Based Violence Expert + Social Justice Advocate currently pursuing my Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, & Technology under the program Arts, Technology, & Emerging Communication (ATEC) from the University of Texas at Dallas while simultaneously acquiring a professional certificate in Augmented / Virtual Reality + Computer Graphics from NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and a post-graduate certificate in Artificial Intelligence + Machine Learning from the University of Texas at Austin.

I am also a proud Founder + Research Director of a registered 501(c)3, VR Catalyst, that focuses on using Virtual Reality + Games as healing tools to help and support victims and survivors of Gender-Based Violence.

As a multipotentialite, I possess advanced expertise in Project Management, Research Development, Strategic Management, Design + Innovation, and Emerging Technologies, harnessing my multidimensional aptitude to pursue my research interests.

My scholarly pursuits have been situated at the nexus of Computational Social Science, Victimology, and Philosophy of Psychiatry, drawing upon the rich contexts of Islamic Art, Persian Literature, and South Asian Studies. This distinctive interdisciplinary approach has equipped me with the necessary tools to examine the multifaceted psychological and social ramifications of violence against women through the lens of history, psychology, trauma, fear, and monstrosity.

I employ the Bayesian Brain research method using Games + Animation to investigate the intricate social and behavioral relationships, their interactions, and the functioning of the brain within a controlled environment. By placing a strong emphasis on Functional Studies + Mental Health research, my work aspires to bridge the chasm between technology and human experiences, providing a deeper understanding of the complex issue of gender-based violence and contributing to the body of knowledge in the fields of psychology and social sciences.
