Hi! 👋

I am Hamida Khatri, a PMP® (Project Management Professional) certified Gender-Based Violence Expert + Social Justice Advocate, currently pursuing my Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, & Technology under the Arts, Technology, & Emerging Communication (ATEC) program from the University of Texas at Dallas while simultaneously working towards a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas.

Additionally, I am the Founder + Research Director of a registered 501(c)3, VR Catalyst. Our focus is on leveraging Virtual Reality + Games as therapeutic tools to assist and support victims and survivors of Gender-Based Violence.

As a multipotentialite, I bring advanced expertise in Project Management, Research Development, Strategic Management, Design + Innovation, and Emerging Technologies. This multidimensional aptitude fuels my pursuit of diverse research interests.

My scholarly work is positioned at the intersection of Computational Social Science, Victimology, and Philosophy of Psychiatry, drawing upon the rich contexts of Islamic Art, Persian Literature, and South Asian Studies. This distinctive interdisciplinary approach equips me to explore the complex psychological and social impacts of violence against women, analyzing these issues through historical, psychological, and traumatic perspectives on fear and monstrosity.

I utilize the Bayesian Brain research method using Games + Animation to probe the intricate social and behavioral relationships, their interactions, and brain function within a controlled environment. With a strong emphasis on Functional Studies + Mental Health research, my work aims to bridge the gap between technology and human experiences. This approach provides a deeper understanding of the complex issue of gender-based violence, contributing significantly to the fields of Psychology + Social Sciences.
